Simplistic Holiday Decorations That Set The Mood

This holiday season (and most, honestly) we're all about keeping it simple with high-impact, effortless details that easily bring the etherial charm of the season to your home.

No matter which holiday you celebrate, we want to emphasize the ever so simple ways that you can create a special atmosphere in your home with small touches that - A) don't break the bank, B) don't fill up your garbage can come January 1st, & C) do bring the feeling of the holiday celebration without the hassle.

FRONT DOOR INSPIRATIONS

Cedar garland is our BFF this season. With pre-made wreaths and garland from your local hardware or grocery store, feel free to load up on a wreath or two as well as garland to stretch around the entirety of your front door. Paired with a ribbon of your choosing and brass bells, this is the simplest way to create an elegant yet understated holiday look.

For ribbons, we like to opt with a wide velvet ribbon in either burnt orange, black, or light blue. Here is a website that offers these colors. In leu of nothing going to waste, your extra ribbon can be used for gift wrap this season (bet you didn't know you were creating your own holiday brand, did you??).

Since Jeff Bezos' real estate portfolio is already beaming with mansions, lets' support local makers this year, with these brass bells from Etsy. Versatile as ever, these can be added to your wreath as shown above, or have some fun by buying 4-5 sets to sprinkle throughout the doorway arch.

If you'd like to spice up the look a bit, add additional greenery of another tree species (olive branches or small magnolia branches) to your wreath or door.

INTERIOR INSPIRATIONS

If you're already a plant person, this is going to take your serotonin to dangerous new highs (we love that for you). Remember that Cedar garland that we mentioned for the front door inspirations? We're bringing this whimsical feature full circle to the inside of the house.

What's great about decorating with garland is how naturally it falls into place. Whether it's placed on stair railings, mantles, tables, or even your lighting fixtures (no flames please!) - the cedar garland can be strung up and tied with a bow in almost any location of your home. Add another layer with the brass bells and possibly a few flameless candles and voilà, chef's kiss.
